How it got here

The arc, beside the one-off mashup

Started on Techno, Happy Hardcore and Rave — Dune, Einslive, the usual suspects — then moved through Hip Hop, Alternative and Bloghouse before landing in Dubstep, Drum & Bass and Breaks.

Everything below is what came out of that: a radio residency, mixtapes for labels and parties, and live sets where the plan was to have no plan.

NO EXCUSES — 35 episodes

The flagship series

Originally aired bi-weekly on di.fm on the Electro House channel (~800–1300 average listeners). About 1½ years and 35 episodes recorded, roughly 60 minutes each.

Some episodes are still missing descriptions or artwork, and a few were never archived — the tracklists below are the part that survived.

Oooookay, here we go again! :D Some Complextro vibes in my set and well known & loved trashing by @quer4mat on the second half. Speaking of: I'm really happy to have the two nice guys from Germany (hoooraaay, haha) on the show. Well known for their banging Sicktape-series:

soundcloud.com/quer4mat/sets/quer4mat-sicktapes

the two have something really nice up their sleeves. They've produced some really nice Maximal/Electro originals and packed them up with a bunch of superb remixes for their first EP 'Gammelfleisch', out on Shax Trax 28th of November. So definitely listen to those, too!!

soundcloud.com/quer4mat/sets/preview-gammelfleisch-ep

On other notes, sorry about the tracks that we've both played. That's totally my fault, lol. I really listened to their set first, but obviously I need more sleep, haha!

And if you happen to be from the area (Bonn/Cologne, that is), we (@grasp-1 & me) present our second Lambda party in a new location, right next to the Bonn main station. So come around and drink with us :D

And we have a website now, too! \m/

So enjoy the ride, I'll spare me the usual stuff so this gets online faster :P

Oh yeah! After some trouble with SoundCloud the last 2 days, I'm finally able to bring you show no. 24.

Everyone who feared I was gone for good, don't fear no more. I'm not going anywhere! Just was extremely stressed (laptop stolen, bla, bla. NO EXCUSES haha). So here we go for episode 24. Loud as ever!

Show aired on di.fm (Digitally Imported) last wednesday @ 6pm (next show 04.04.).

One last thing before I shut up, apparently this happened that wednesday, too:

Really glad to see that he enjoys listening to Electro House. For everyone not knowing who that is, he's the inventor & originally the only programmer on Indie super-hit Minecraft. So for everyone not getting the reference in the show-artwork this episode, that's it :).

Last but not least, shoutout to @bonerizing-records for the David Hiller promo, you guys are seriously on fire with your releases lately, verynice!!

As always, critics and comments very welcome, and see you for the next show,

This is a live-recording of a closing-set I played last weekend at FrOSCon 2012 (http://www.froscon.de/). If some transitions seem weird, I was kinda drunk & this was the first time for me to mix trap, so bear with me haha :D. Transitions to Moombahton for the last quarter, or so.

Also a small tribute to my music collective in Bonn, Klubsport Bonn (http://klubsport-bonn.de/). Some stuff to come, stay tuned! And don't forget, music's diverse! Embrace it!

Yours truly, tsnm aka Trapper John

Some different vibes on this exclusive for Tasty Beatdrops! :) Enjoy some dangerous arpeggios, mysterious french sound and drift away!

For alle the people getting here through the blog, and don't know what I'm doing; I'm a DJ from Bonn, age 27. For the most part I'm known for my show on di.fm (Digitally Imported) called 'NO EXCUSES', which runs every first and third wednesday on their Electro House channel. You can find the past shows in my profile here, too.
I've been in love with electronic music for a looong time, and started DJing for fun about two to three years ago. About half a year ago I bought a S4, as verbose mappings for abused MIDI devices just didn't cut it anymore. At the moment I'm mainly into melodic Maximal Electro, to call it that for a lack of a better name.
This mix is an hommage to my roots in Electro. Heavy on the Danger-esque sounds, borrowings from synthpop and quite dramatic! So sorry, no bangers for today, hope you'll not be completely upset with me now ;).

If you want to find more about me, check out my facebook profile, or the page for the radio show:

facebook.com/tsnm.22hz
www.di.fm/calendar/event.php?event=27236

And if you didn't get here through the Tasty Beatdrops blog, be sure to check out that great project by Robin right here:

blog.tastybeatdrops.be/
facebook.com/pages/Tasty-Beatdrops/114898081903137

He writes about tracks, releases, mixtapes and alot more, including weekly mixtapes (as this one ;) ). So be sure to check him out, too!
As always, I'd be MORE than happy to hear your feedback. Think this mix is completely whack? Heard those ones, too? Let me know!

TSNM IS BACK

Booya! Been super busy with work, and honestly a bit oversaturated with Maximal / Electro House / Metalectro in general. But after over a year without some proper NO EXCUSES-style mixtape, it's about time to release a new one. Won't promise any regular new series, though. Still to tangled up in other stuff, and Music and DJing will stay a hobby for me (I like and want it that way!).

If YOU like what you're hearing, consider sharing the set on Facebook / Twitter / here, as I'm kinda sure that, at least on Facebook, nobody will see it otherwise due to the inactivity ;). So if you want to do me a favour, share, like, comment, dl it like crazy! \m/

Special thanks to @Bonerizing Records, @K12 and @You Killing Me for the sweet promos. And a big shoutout to @Metalectro, @Jet Set Trash and everyone else for keeping it all going! <3

Without further ado, click that play thing \m/ (or, you know the deal, download it for the true 320kbps experience),

yours truly, tsnm

'Descartes suggested that the pineal gland is "the seat of the soul" for several reasons. First, the soul is unitary, and unlike many areas of the brain the pineal gland appeared to be unitary (though subsequent microscopic inspection has revealed it is formed of two hemispheres). Second, Descartes observed that the pineal gland was located near the ventricles. He believed the cerebrospinal fluid of the ventricles acted through the nerves to control the body, and that the pineal gland influenced this process. Sensations delivered by the nerves to the pineal, he believed, caused it to vibrate in some sympathetic manner, which in turn gave rise to the emotions and caused the body to act.'

To cite one of my first electro purchases on vinyl, and still one of my favourite tracks:

"Alcohol, Drugs, Overdrive, Noise, Neon Lights, Party People, Revolution,
RAVE IS KING!"

Fukkk Offf - Rave Is King

And in that vein I partnered up with Rave-it Rec to bring you a "small" mixtape! And as I really don't like to separate music into genres or restrict myself to specific tracks only because they were seemingly added to a genre by random, I just chose everything I thought to fit into the general term "rave" for this one, so expect some different styles (I hope it has some artistic continuity non-the-less, at least that was what I was aiming for :D).

So, always keep on ravin' everyone!!

And make sure to give the guys over at Rave-it Rec a shout-out! They've set out to bring you top-notch acts like You Killing Me to germany, and they deserve some definite respect for that!

And if you'd like to book some of my buddies currently on Rave-it Rec (@slaminA, @quer4mat, @leutegibts and alot more) drop them an email to raveitrecords@web.de!
Keep the german electro scene bangin'!

Yours truly,

“Aesthetics (/ɛsˈθɛtɪks/; also spelled æsthetics and esthetics) is a branch of philosophy dealing with the nature of art, beauty, and taste, with the creation and appreciation of beauty. It is more scientifically defined as the study of sensory or sensori-emotional values, sometimes called judgments of sentiment and taste. More broadly, scholars in the field define aesthetics as "critical reflection on art, culture and nature."
